Migraine Headache Symptoms – How To Cure A Migraine Headache Quickly From Home

When I get migraine headache symptoms, I know that I must arrange what I can before I lose my vision.   It is not the same for everybody.  For me it starts with lights flashing in front of my eyes, pins and needles in my hands.    If I do get medication and lie down immediately at times I can prevent it.  I lose my vision which usually lasts for about 4 hours.  I have had to have people called to fetch me before as I have had migraine before in a shopping mall.  I start to feel as if I am in a tunnel everything is distant.  At times I am instantly nauseous which is a problem, as I can’t keep any medication down.

After a severe migraine I sleep at times for two days.  I cannot begin to elaborate on the exhaustion that I have after the migraine.  I am very busy and work to deadlines losing 3 days of my life is huge problem for me.  I know have learned to pin point the migraine headache causes for me.   These include diet.  I cannot eat Macadamia nuts.  I avoid the combination of chocolates and nuts.  Sugar also does not agree with me.  Besides for diet extreme tension is another factor.   I left my previous job for this reason.  It became a vicious cycle I would have to take off work due to a migraine, and due to taking off I would be under more pressure at work and then I would get a migraine again.  Under normal circumstances I only experience migraine headache symptoms once or twice a year.  While I was working as production manager for this company I was having one every two weeks.

I have been doing a lot of research on migraine headache symptoms which are different to tension headache symptoms. A tension headache may be as extreme as a migraine but the symptoms are slightly different.  Your head will throb as much but you will not get flashing before your eyes or sensitivity to light and sound.   Many people that suffer from tension headaches will have stiffened muscles at the back of the neck and shoulders.

What causes tension headaches? This maybe very similar to what causes migraine as they have similar causes.  Extreme stress, sleeping in a bad position and not sleeping are some of the causes of tension headaches.

If you are looking for a headache remedy, I think prevention is better than cure.

Watch what you eat: Note what you ate before your migraine started.   Eventually you will start to find that certain foods do trigger a migraine.

Do you have enough magnesium in your diet: Studies have shown that migraines may also be a result of inadequate magnesium in your diet?  Consult your GP and find out if this the case for you.

Are you overdosing: More and more research is showing that taking supplements may be detrimental as unless a doctor picks up that you are lacking in something you may be overdosing on certain nutrients which could also cause the migraines.

Do your drink enough water?: Dehydration is a major cause of headaches could even cause migraines make sure that you have enough fluids during the day.

Do you sleep enough?:  Make sure you get enough sleep.  If you wake up tired every day perhaps you should go to bed earlier.

 

Assess your own body and start avoiding any triggers.  If the headaches are not going away, you should try changing your life style and learn how to cure headaches.
